Warning against counterfeit invoices and fraudulent letters

Unfortunately, we have noticed an increase in the number of fraudulent invoices and letters in circulation and would like to draw your attention to two types of fraud:

Invoices for entries in private registers

When companies are newly formed or changed, the relevant commercial registry sends an invoice. Unfortunately, address book fraudsters and register sharks use public entries to send false and unnecessary invoices. These misleading invoices (from several different providers) often reach the recipient before the original invoice from the commercial registry. You can find some examples of such invoices from fake registers on our homepage.

Despite the great similarity to the original invoice, there are ways to tell them apart. The fake invoices do not include information on legal remedies. Instead, they indicate that the entry is being made in a private register and that payment to the "provider" is voluntary. Be careful! Some of the misleading invoices even brazenly relate to fraudulent activities.

Fraudulent letters on residence status in the name of the State Secretariat for Migration SEM

The State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) has also warned about another type of fraud involving fraudulent letters relating to the residence status of foreign nationals. Here you will find the relevant information from the Department of Economic Affairs of the Canton of Zug with an example of such a letter.

If you are unsure how to deal with such fake invoices or fraudulent letters, you can contact us at any time.
