Foundation “Licht für vergessene Kinder” – Secondary school in Uganda receives electricity connection
We have been supporting the Zug-based foundation “Licht für vergessene Kinder” (www.lfvk.ch) for over 20 years by preparing the annual accounts and providing financial support for various projects. The foundation impresses us with its transparency: 100% of all donations flow into the projects and the entire work of the foundation board is carried out free of charge.
The foundation has been providing active aid in Uganda for ten years. They began in 2014 with six orphans - today they not only run a residential facility for children and young people, but also a school for over 150 children, which opened last year in Chopelwor.
Since October 2024, this school has also been connected to the power grid. This means that computers and digital devices can now be used in lessons, which significantly improves learning conditions. Electrification thus creates a basis for efficient school operations and opens up new opportunities for pupils to learn in a modern and digital way - an important step forward for education in the region!
As a company, we are following this development with great commitment. One of our partners has personally visited the site to see the situation for himself and has been able to experience the progress made in recent years at first hand. The foundation is achieving tangible changes on the ground, significantly improving the lives of children and young people.
We are proud to play a small part in this change and will continue to support the foundation's work in order to promote positive development in this region in the long term and give the people there a better future.
