Cantonal Contribution for Childcare (Kantonspauschale) – submit your application now
The Canton of Zug will introduce a cantonal will introduce a cantonal contribution towards child care costs from August 2026. The contribution applies to childcare provided by day-care centres (Kita) and registered childminers (Tagesfamilien) and amounts 33% of the average childcare rate.
You are eligible for the Kantonspauschale, if:
✓ Your child resides in the Canton of Zug.
✓ Your child is older than 3 months.
✓ Your child attends a licensed day-care centre or is cared for by a registered childminder (inside or outside the Canton of Zug).
✓ Both parents are employed or enrolled in a state-recognised education or training pro gramme.
✓ You submit a complete application.
How to apply?

✓ Needed Documents:
o Current proof of childcare in a day-care centre or with a childminder
o Current proof of employment or education/training for both parents
✓ Submission via Civo online portal
