Adjustment of the mileage allowance as of 2026

The Swiss Federal Tax Administration has announced that the flat-rate mileage allowance for business travel using a private vehicle will increase as of 1 January 2026. The new rate will be CHF 0.75 per kilometer, up from the previous CHF 0.70.

 

Several cantonal tax authorities have also confirmed that this adjustment applies to already approved expense regulations. Companies are therefore well advised to review their internal expense policies and update them where necessary.
